Age: Unknown, but well over 100; appears to be somewhere between her late 20s and early 30s.
Gender: Female
Sexuality: Yoruichi is very much an...equal opportunity kinda girl. As far as she's concerned, everyone should have an opportunity to experience her glory, so far as she deigns them worthy of it.

Appearance: There are two ways you will come across the strange woman named Yoruichi. The first, and her personal favorite simply because of the shock value, is a small, talking black cat. She has little in the way of distinguishing features, aside from being able to talk; in a deep, masculine voice, no less.

Her true form, though, is very, very different. You see, Yoruichi likes to turn heads and be noticed, and she is very, very good at it. Though she doesn't stand much taller than five foot, and has a lithe, rather voluptuous frame, she is undeniably powerful. Her long legs and lean muscles make her a clear martial artist.

Always standing out, her dark skin and beatiful, roguish looks help to make her distinctive, as does her long, deep purple hair and bright golden eyes. Having spent many years as a feline, she doesn't have much taste for clothes, but can often be seen in tight black pants and a baggy orange sweat-shirt that hides a form-fitting black top. This particular article of clothing is speically designed without shoulders or back specifically for her fighting style.

Personality: Yoruichi's personality seems to change depending on what form she takes, although there are a handful of constants. She's always brilliant, always witty, and always smirking at everyone else on the inside.

When she's in her cat form, she has a tendency to act a sight more stuffy and no-nonsense than usual. Dry and sardonic, she scoffs at those who are close-minded to her talking status, and berates those who act frivolously, or at least when she's trying to teach them something. Constantly rolling her eyes, in a metaphoric sense, as a cat, she often seems like a bit of a stick-in-the-mud, although she still has her rather British sense of humor about things.

Freeing herself from her feline constraints, though, seems to free her personality as well. She takes great joy in seeing the reactions of others to her human, and often naked new body. The easily flustered suffer relentless teasing in many cases, and she's generally quite playful, most things garnering nothing more than an enigmatic grin, or a fleeting quip. She still has a serious side, though, and a will of iron. Going head to head with Shihouin Yoruichi is never an easy task.

Abilities/Weaponry: A powerful Shinigami, Yoruichi has all the normal abilities of one of her kind, being fast, strong, and durable far beyond normal human limits. She's reknowned as a master of the Shunpo, or Flash Step, a high-speed technique letting her move faster than the eye can see. Though once able to take down an entire squadron single handedly, she's out of practice and has lost some of her power since coming to Paixao.

As part of her mastery of Shunpo, though, she's created a dangerous and mostly unrestrained fighting style called Shunko, which only one other person in Soul Society is capable of. It is the reason for her back-and-shoulder-less outfit, as it surrounds her body with a current of explosive energy. She doesn't use it often because of her trouble controlling it, though, and is finding it much harder to call upon since reaching Paixao.

Lastly is her completely unique and best known trait - being able to transform into a black cat at the drop of a hat. There is no limit to the time she can remain in either human or feline form, and she is quite used to being in it, having even forgotten about clothes entirely after one particularly long stretch.

Weaknesses: Well, aside from having a certain degree of Shonen Retard-ism, which isn't surprising as she's a hero from a Shonen manga series, Yoruich is strictly hand-to-hand. Unlike nearly every other Shinigami that we've seen, she doesn't wield a Zanpakutoh, instead preferring to just beat people's heads in with her bare hands. This means, though, that she's at a slight disadvantage against weapon wielding opponents.

In addition, she's, as mentioned, woefully out of practice after 100 years of hiding, so she's not quite as tough as she used to be. Added to that the power limitations that have hit her since arriving in Paixao and, well, she's definitely lacking her former luster. She's also loathe to use her strongest ability in most settings, not wanting to cause too much collatoral damage; in some cases, though, it's either bust out full strength, or lose feeling in her arms for a few days.

History: Yoruichi's past, like that of many Shinigami or, really, characters in Bleach, is one mostly enshrouded in the clouds of enigma.

Some time more than 100 years before the story begins/modern day, she became the heir to the prestigious Shihouin family, one of Soul Society's four noble families. In turn, she became the leader of Soul Society's Special Forces unit, the 22nd leader and first female. As Special Forces leader, she took on a guard named Soi Fong, becoming her mentor and later leaving her to succeed as leader.

Roughly 100 years ago, though, she left Soul Society quite abruptly and never looked back. When her close friend, Urahara Kisuke, was exiled for disreputable scientific experiments, she left with him, aiding him in his escape and carving out a place in the world. In the 100 years since she's left from Soul Society, she hasn't fought at all.

Most often in the form of a cat, she comes and goes from Urahara's shop as she pleases. Recently, she aided in the training of Sado Yasutora and Inoue Orihime in preparation for travel to Soul Society to rescue Kuchiki Rukia, and aided in the same rescue. There, she returned to battle for the first time in 100 years, and even against her former protegee. She also helped Kurosaki Ichigo attain Bankai.

Having returned in one piece after Aizen Sousuke's dramatic exit and Kuchiki Rukia's acquittal from death, she resumes her languid feline life, although seems to have taken more to her human form after returning to it again.

And after one particularly good cat nap, she finds herself in Paixao...
